Abstract. Emotion recognition ability of emotions expressed by other people (ERA-O) can be important for job performance, leadership, bargaining, and career success. Traditional personnel assessment tools this ability, however, are contaminated linguistic skills. In a time global work migration, more speak language at that is not their mother tongue. Consequently, we developed validated the Face-Based Matching Test (FEMT), nonlinguistic objective test ERA-O in gainfully employed adults. We demonstrate FEMT’s validity with psychological constructs (cognitive emotional intelligence, Big Five personality traits) its criterion interethnic fit.
